Young Women from Punta Princesa Enrol in Tech-Voc (TVL) Courses through FundLife

One of the highlights of FundLife - Cebu Programming in partnership with Women Win is the sponsorship of the National Vocational Training Courses of Young Women. This is also coupled with the organization’s community mentorship on Employability and Entrepreneurship Pathways which strengthens the women’s understanding of the world of work and business.

The young women of Punta Princesa, the partner community in Cebu City, will start their skills training in Housekeeping and Culinary Arts under the Department of Manpower Development and Placement (DMDP). DMDP is a provider of accessible and equitable employment opportunities to Cebu City which offers skills training programs and employment enhancement services.

A total of seven (7) young women from the partner community will undergo a three-month program in DMDP which is scheduled from Mondays to Fridays beginning September 19, 2022. The courses offered are in accordance with the Competency-based Curriculum (CBC) standards designed and approved by the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA).

The young women expressed their excitement about starting and finishing the course within 3 months. Among the 7 trainees, 3 of them will take Culinary Arts while the other 4 will take Housekeeping. FundLife and Women Win aim to educate and upskill these young women to gain self-confidence, and skills training, attend mentorship sessions to secure employment opportunities and develop a business plan for micro-entrepreneurship. Overall, this training creates a sustainable culture aligning with core business to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 1, 5, 8, and 10.
