One of the girls shared how happy she was when she saw an envelope with crayons, an activity book, and the rest of the kit.
“I am happy that I received this pack,” she exclaimed.
For the girls in Sambag 1, it was more than just receiving the packs. It was reminiscing about the classes at school, socializing with their classmates, and having lessons with their teachers.
The Safe-at-Home Packs were distributed last May 27, 2021, in Sambag 1, Cebu City. Twenty-three girls received the packs with excitement. Most girls are out-of-school youths because they have a hard time answering the modules, and they decided to just help their parents earn a living.
One of the activities of the session is to identify an adjective that best describes them. After which, they need to create a self-map. The girls were asked to write as many adjectives as they can. They presented their self-map to the group, and they were surprised that each member has different personalities and hobbies and there were some similarities in terms of music and book preferences. The goal of the activity is for the girls to become self-aware.
Further, the girls were grateful because of the opportunities Fundlife International Inc. had provided them. One of the girls said that they wanted to learn more about books and they wished to have another session in the future.
