The COVID-19 pandemic has affected many people in the Philippines, especially those in smaller, rural communities. Many people in Sitio Mahusay of Mandaue City have not worked nor have had any income in over 100 days.
We were very privileged to be supported by Havaianas PH in our drive to support girls and women in need during the COVID-19 crisis.
On the 8th June, 300 foodpacks were distributed for girls and their families along with 200 hygiene kits for young women and mothers. The hygiene kits included soap, antiseptic, sanitary products and cleaning wipes. Arla PH also handed out 160 packs of milk powder to households with pregnant women and young children.
Additionally, health awareness sessions were given to members of the community to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, this included hygiene advice, self isolation advice and education of symptoms.
