GirlsGotThis and Fundlife launch a mentoring programme, with the first session hosted by Coach Patty

In our efforts to continue to educate, inspire, and empower its players amidst the pandemic, GirlsGotThis and Fundlife launched a mentoring programme with eight GirlsGotThis players on the 9th October 2020. Coach Patty (a GirlsGotThis Coach) served as a mentor for the 90 minute session.

The presentation made by Coach Patty called 'My Strength, My Dreams'

Coach Patty shares her experience as to how FundLife developed her strengths and encouraged her to pursue her dream of going to and working in Spain way back in 2016 despite her inhibitions. She also shared how coaching has changed her weaknesses like impatience, low self-esteem, being quick to anger, and her proud attitude toward patience, self-confidence, and humility.

The interactive session saw the players talk about their strengths and weaknesses, and most importantly, they talked about their dreams and how they can achieve them. The participants noted that it is important to identify every individual's weaknesses so they would be able to turn those into positive traits. While it is important to identify their strengths so that they may be able to use them to achieve their dreams. The participants were taught tips in identifying their strengths, likewise an online survey to determine their top strengths.

Coach Patty showed how her top strengths have changed from 2018 (when she first answered the online survey) to this year. She emphasized that her top strengths depend on the individual’s current situation and feelings; but understanding that one can change means that a person’s development is not at all impossible. As part of their outputs, the participants were asked to answer the strengths survey as well as make their dream board.

FundLife and GirlsGotThis hope to continue the online mentoring programme, next time featuring the other coaches and mentors and having more players as participants in each session.
